Converge are playing The Garage in Glasgow tonight so no more updates today. But, hey, you'll get a Converge review out of it.

If you're headed to the gig I'll have a beer with you, if you're not I'll be sure to have one on your behalf!

Bring Me The Horizon Finish Up New Album

Bring Me The Horizon have finished up work on their follow up to 2008's hugely successful "Suicide Season". They returned to Studio Fredman in Gothenburg and Oli Sykes had this to say of the new material:

"We were all worried that we couldn’t live up to our own hype, but we all think we’ve blown it away with what we’ve made now. We took a lot of risks with this album and I think they’ve all paid off. We’re not nervous and anxious at all, we just want to get it out there for people to hear.”

Suicide Season seemed to pretty much divide the metal community but, to be honest, it doesn't matter what you think... it was killer. Nothing at all has leaked yet and there's no word on a release date but an Autumn/Winter 2010 is looking likely!

Rolo Tomassi to Support DEP on UK Tour

The Dillinger Escape Plan UK tour is definitely one of the most anticipated live events of the remainder of 2010. However, as if it wasn't significantly great bringing along Between the Buried and Me over with them last time, this time they're taking out the excellent Rolo Tomassi!

The full dates for the tour are:

28 Oct 2010 Academy 2, Birmingham
29 Oct 2010 The Garage, Glasgow

1 Nov 2010 Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
2 Nov 2010 Academy, Bristol
3 Nov 2010 Waterfront, Norwich
4 Nov 2010 Concorde 2, Brighton

If you aren't familiar with Rolo Tomassi head over here

And not that anyone would need it but for Dillinger head here

Pull on your Norma Jeans...

...& go listen to the stream of their new album "Meridional" on their myspace.

Meridional is out today on Razor and Tie Records. It's not a huge departure for them but why would you want that anyway!? All that matters is that it's a bunch of incredible Norma Jean tracks for people who like Norma Jean...which is most everyone apart from that one guy I met outside The Chariot gig.

Free Knut mp3

An mp3 full to the brim with Knut's sludgey, mathy mayhem is available for download here. It's from the Swiss outfit's latest offering "Wonder".

If you don't know of Knut you should pick up Terrarformer asap as it is seminal. In lieu of a proper review of "Wonder" just take it from me it's well worth grabbing.

Danza III 100 Word Review

Danza III: The Series of Unfortunate Events

Danza III is an absolute tour-de-force that doesn't rely on blast beats to be an absolute face melter. It's like the bastard offspring of The Red Chord, Meshuggah and Pantera. Expect complex riffage and kick-drum patterns punctuated with Dillinger Escape Plan worthy high end discordance and then fear as you're pummelled with frequencies not usually heard outside drone metal. Sure, there's the odd sense of riff déjà-vu here and there but there's way too many finely crafted songs and soul crushing riffs to let that be an issue.

Grab the album but if you need something to sweeten the deal you can grab the track "Sammy Jenkins" courtesy of Metal Injection here or check out Danza's myspace.

Score: 9/10
